Boarding
When you are deciding on where to board your pup there are a few reasons to pick The Dog School. 1. We don’t have strict pick up and drop off times. We work with your schedule. 2. They stay at home with us. We have limited space so we can only house a small number of pups at a time. This means no noisy kennels (particularly at night like in large kennels), they get more human interaction (especially with our kids), and they are never left alone at night or for long periods of time when an emergency could happen. 3. You will receive daily pictures or videos to see what they are up to. This way you can ensure your pup is having a blast ( or relaxing if they prefer) while you are away. 4. If you really miss them, you can FaceTime them to see them live and talk to them.
Puppy Package
I start your puppy on the foundations of potty training and create a potty training schedule specifically for you to continue in your home that fits around your schedule. I teach the following commands: come, sit, down, loose leash walking, no, and name recognition. I also work on behavioral issues like jumping and nipping. This package is 7 days long.
Basic Obedience
I offer a one week (7 day) board and train program. This training programs consists of basic obedience and manners which I will explain in more detail below. I also can do specific behavior correction upon request. While your pup is in training, you will receive daily updates which explain the tasks for the day, along with how it was taught. Along with the daily progress report, owners will receive pictures and videos of field trips we go on throughout the Mid- South area, utilizing the skills your pet has learned! The commands learned are the following: Come and sit- Your pet will come to you when you call them and sit near you. Down- They will be able to lay down with a verbal and non-verbal hand signal. Place- They will be able to stay within the boundaries of an area you prescribe, like a dog bed or mat for an extended time period Heel- They will be able to walk on leash with you in a heeling fashion while being around moderate distractions. Since they’re in my home for a week, when we aren’t training those five commands, I teach them general manners like correcting counter surfing, begging, and door manners. I also teach an offleash recall which will allow you to get him back if he’s not on a leash. If you have further questions please feel free to ask.
Advanced Obedience/Behavioral Modification
I offer a two week (14 day) board and train program. In the 2 week BNT program your pet will learn how to be reliable offleash as well as their commands. This package includes and E collar that is yours to keep. This training programs consists of basic obedience and manners which I will explain in more detail below. This package is intended for serious behavior modification and owners that want their dogs to be reliable 100% of the time offleash. While your pup is in training, you will receive daily updates which explain the tasks for the day, along with how it was taught. Private Lessons
This program is for the owner who’d like to be involved in their pups training. We cover all basic commands learned in our board and train programs and give you the skills to practice at home with your pup! We also offer private lessons for specific issues owners are having.
